the soft green and tan hues of Herefordshire or the cool creams of York, both limestone and sandstone flags

the understated elegance of a hand-carved reclaimed stone floor with riven detailing and finely finished joints.

Cobbles to Concrete Slabs
Paving comes in all shapes and sizes including decorative gravels, brick, cobbles and even the humble
concrete slab! Before you scoff at the latter, remember many of these roughcast stalwarts have withstood
footfall for generations yet costing just a few pounds each. A continuous near-flat path that requires little
or no maintenance and which, with a quick pressure wash, will often look as good as new.
Cobbles, sometimes known as setts are a traditional, hard-wearing surface for paths, driveways and even roads.
Early cobble pavements were simply assorted river pebbles bedded in sand. Today, granite setts offer a unique
and extremely durable surface with a distinct finish - and any broken piece can be simply hooked out and replaced.
Possibly the quickest form of pathway is that created by scooping out a few cm's of earth, laying a geotextile or
weed-barrier and depositing a thick bed of decorative gravel - perhaps edged in brick or period lawn edging. We
supply all of these materials plus the tools and sundries you'll need for the perfect path or paving.
